You play as Bleebo, a silly little guy whose house is going to be blown up by a meteor. You, of course, want to stop that.

This is my sixth game, Bleebo, made for my sixth game jam, the GMTK Game Jam 2026. It takes roughly five minutes :D

I initially wanted this to be a lot like Deltarune and Super Mario RPG, which are two of my all-time favorite games, and a big inspiration for the game you're currently reading about. It ended up being more leaning towards the story, and even the story is very surface-level, no deep stuff or anything like Deltarune.

The fighting and leveling, and the platforming, I just wasn't able to add those in the short time that is 4 days. Though perhaps, maybe in the future I'll be able to do such stuff, and actually be a bit productive, who knows.

CONTROLS (please read it's not that much):

Walk: Left Arrow Key/Right Arrow Key or A/D

Sprint: Shift

Jump: Spacebar

Crouch: Down Arrow Key or S

Proceed Dialogue/Skip Dialogue Line: E

Interact: E

side note^^^: You can interact with lots of stuff, so please do :>

side note side note^^^: There's also 5 collectibles scattered throughout the game in interactions. Though they're not really secret as they're quite obvious.

NOTES:

  • I have made one change in the 1 hour extension-period, that being a bugfix. The bug made the game virtually unplayable; it showed the Endscreen on the second screen, which is 10 seconds into the game. Now I know it has been said the extension period isn't for bugfixes, and I sincerely apologise for this action, but it seems stupid to me to stubbornly hold on to those rules, which would leave me with an unplayable game. After all, it's about everyone having fun, it just seemed like the better option to me :D
  • The game, unfortunately, has a severe lack of audio due to me getting into a time stretch approaching the deadline. There are minimal SFX and there's no music, nor is there any ambience.
  • There's also some stuff missing I really wished I could've added. This includes the end cutscene where you place the Boards and Spring on top of your house, I'd even made sprites for that :sob: and the cutscene where the meteor bounces off the spring back into space.
  • This also includes basically the whole city of Glorbopolis; now it's just an empty husk of what could've been. I wanted it to have the same atmosphere as the forest, but again due to time constraints, I wasn't able to finish it :[
  • I won't be working on this game after the jam, since I feel like this isn't a game I would want to put a lot of time into only to get bored and drop it in the end. Maybe I'll turn a future jam game into a main project, probably an RPG with turn-based combat, I really like those :P
  • There has been no use of AI in the process of developing this game.

KNOWN BUGS:

  • If you go back to the town scene, without grabbing the Big Spring after the Fat Cat lets you grab it, the sprite will be gone when coming back to the city. You can still grab it though, the sprite just isn't present. Just interact with the place where the spring would normally be.

Also, if you find any more bugs, please tell me! I know I can't edit the game files, but it's still nice to know. Feedback is also very much appreciated :D
